Panel Installation Guide
If you need even more information on how to install the panels or don’t understand something, you can swiftly download our PDF file, which describes each step in precise detail.
What equipment do you need?
For those who want to bother:
- Either a circular saw or a regular hand saw
- A screwdriver
- Screws:
- Black screws approx. 1.37 in.
- Small screws approx. 0.5 in. (for cut panels)
- Screws and dowels for attaching the battens to the wall - Battens/furring strips (we recommend 1.77 in. in thickness)
- Insulation (1.77 in. in thickness)
- Pencil
- Roulette
- A craft knife
For those who don’t want to bother:
(without cutting, screwing or drilling)
- Acoustic Wood Panel
- Wall or ceiling
- A construction glue or grab adhesive
Simple as can be!
Step 1: Prepare the surface
1. If you don’t want to bother, just wipe the surface from dust, remove all screws, nails and other obstacles. The surface must be dry.
2. Apply glue to the surface of the Acoustic Wood Panel and attach it to the wall, ensuring even adhesion. But if you want to achieve better noise absorption, then proceed to step.
Step 2: Mounting options
If you don’t want to use glue or additional insulation:
- Place the Acoustic Wood Panel against the wall
- Take the black screws that are suitable for your wall type
- Screw directly into the felt lining between the slats.
- Maintain a 1/2 inch gap between slats on adjacent Acoustic Wood Panels
- You’re done!
TIP: Use 15 screws per panel
NOTE: Removing the Acoustic Wood Panel may damage the wall
If you choose to install the panels with insulation for better sound absorption:
- Choose screws suitable for your wall type
- Secure wooden slats, 3-4 inches high, horizontally to the wall
- Follow the next steps
TIP: Maintain a 24-inch distance between each slat and screw.
Step 3: Insert insulation between the battens
- Insert the insulation, approximately 1.77 inches thick, between the battens across the surface area where you want to install the panels.
- Fasten the Acoustic Wood Panel with black screws to the strips we installed in Step 2, through the felt
between the battens of the Acoustic Wood Panel. - Maintain a 1/2 inch gap between slats on adjacent panels.
TIP: Utilize 15 screws per panel for optimal attachment.
Step 4: Tailor to the Correct Size
If the final Acoustic Wood Panel doesn’t perfectly fit your wall, adjustments are easy with two methods:
Changing the Width:
- Trim the Acoustic Wood Panel felt along the rail using a craft knife.
- We remind you that the gap between the slats on adjacent panels should be 1/2 inches.
Changing the Height:
- Trim the Acoustic Wood Panel felt along the rail using a craft knife.
- We remind you that the gap between the slats on adjacent panels should be 1/2 inches.
